Steven Westphal

Biography

Prior to joining Zinober Diana & Monteverde P.A., Steven served five years as an Assistant State Attorney for the 12th Judicial Circuit in and for Sarasota County, Florida, where he prosecuted thousands of cases ranging from misdemeanors to felonies. During his time as an Assistant State Attorney, Steven perfected his skills in all phases of litigation including case management, discovery, pretrial negotiation, pretrial motion practice, jury selection, and trial. In addition to being a skilled litigator, Steven taught law enforcement students on the topics on United States Federal and Florida Courts, Categories of Intent, and Reading & Understanding Statutes.

Steven graduated magna cum laude from Stetson University College of Law in May 2020 and was a Senior Associate on Stetson’s Law Review. Steven graduated cum laude in May 2010 from the University of South Florida with a double major in History and Philosophy.

Steven is a veteran of the United States Air Force where he was a commissioned officer and Weapons Systems Officer on the B-1B bomber and later a Unit Deployment Manager.
